Define the shared question
Clarify what the community needs to understand, who will use the map, and which geographic area belongs in scope.
Agree on data and roles
Identify the published or contributed data to use, how it will be reviewed, and who is responsible for collection, editing, and map production.
Build a readable custom map
Choose layers, labels, colours, and a layout that directly support the shared question. Review the result with participants before publishing.
